Indonesia consists of more than 13,000 islands, spread from
Sabang in the west up to Merauke in the east. Total population in 1996 is more 200
millions, and this make Indonesia be the fourth of densely populated country in the world.
Compared to other Asia countries, drug consumption per capita in Indonesia is very
low. This is caused by awareness for the needs of medicines, which in turn also
lower the buying power of them. While the diseases that break out in this developing
country need the availability of big volume as well as variety of drugs.
Considering the above, Indonesia actually has potential domestic market for pharmaceutical
industries.
In line with the rapid growth of the pharmaceutical industries in Indonesia, and supported
by the potential market and modern technology, we are sure we can move forward to be one
of the companies that have the share in enhancing people's health in Indonesia.
Our motto: ANDA SEHAT BERSAMANYA (You Are Healthy With Us) inspires us to produce
high quality OTC and Ethical products, and to offer competitive prices to consumers.
The company is challenged to always develop the product and to widen the distribution, not
only to local market but also to international one. And through our distributors we
have exported some products.
To welcome the year of 2000 or the 21st. century where the global market will begin and
will begin and will demand very tight competition, we are aware that good professional
management, qualified human resources and high technology product are not sufficient,
therefore we also open ourselves to cooperate with local and foreign companies. We
have added some licensed products to our list.
History
PT. Erela was founded in 1966 by Drs. Edi Handojo and Dra.
Kusumawati Handojo at Jalan Erlangga, Semarang.
With the motto: Anda Sehat Bersamanya, PT. Erela have proved themselves to be
concerned to the maintenance and enhancement of public health by producing various high
quality products with competitive prices.
A new factory was built then, at Jalan Murbey 2, Semarang, and in 1986 all activities were
moved to the new building which is bigger and the facilities are more complete.
In 1990 PT. Erela was awarded CPOB certificate due to their modern production facilities
and the building, which is in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standard,
and thus, fulfill the national, regional and international standards.

In relation to the continuos development
on the use of their modern facilities and the and the requirement for new product in the
market, PT. Erela have produced many drugs within complete scope of therapy.
Altogether there are more than 120 products, either OTC or Ethical ones, and are provided
in tablets, sugar coated tablets, film coated tablets, capsules, syrups, ointments and
cream, eardrops and eyedrops.
The machinery's and the space have been designed in such away according to the CPOB (GMP) standard, and all production activities follow the required procedures. So all products are consistent in specification and quality, and fulfill the quality standard.

Quality Control is very important and this is done from the very beginning: from the main
raw material, supported material up to the material used for packaging.
We concern on both the quality and the quantity along the production process up to
the finished product.
To enable to implement their duties, professionals are employed to serve Quality Control Department, and they are equipped by modern and up to date machinery's.

into two groups: The marketing for OTC products and the marketing for ethical products.
The marketing activities for OTC products
are done by:
n promotion through mass media
n introduction of new products
n campaign program
We manage that the distribution of our
products reach smallest retailers in the country .
For international market, we are available to cooperate with foreign companies.
